Sir,

We thank Sivasankaran and colleagues [1] for their interest in our work. We did not measure either calf length or calf circumference in our survey [2] . Sivasankaran and colleagues raise the intriguing possibility that calf anthropometric measures may provide valuable insights into the pathogenesis of nutritional and chronic diseases. We agree that future studies should obtain such measurements to evaluate the important hypothesis raised by them.
